Grogol Riverbank Area Being Revitalized to Anticipate Flooding

Joint officers from Kebayoran Lama Sub-district, South Jakarta are revitalizing the Grogol Riverbank area, Grogol Utara Urban Village, on Wednesday (3/2), which aims to anticipate flooding and increase water holding capacity during heavy rains.

Before demolishment, we had conducted socialization to nine building owners

Kebayoran Lama Sub-district Head, Iwan K Santoso said it was conducted by demolishing semi-permanent buildings standing on the riverbank.

"Before demolishment, we had conducted socialization to nine building owners. They are even willing to demolish their buildings themselves," he expressed.

Grogol Riverbank Is Rampant with Illegal Building

He also provided some fleets in lifting the belongings of residents whose buildings were affected by the revitalization.

"Those residents will be relocated to the Greater Jakarta area," he continued.

As for the information, after revitalization is done, the land will be transformed into a park and a shortcut for residents.
